Women come last at casual sex.

Those of you with gay friends of the male kind will likely be aware of an app called Grindr. (Do these people not have access to a dictionary?) The app enables the user to connect with other frisky fellas in the area, making a quick bunk up an even speedier affair altogether. After all, meeting in a bar can take MINUTES. Unsurprisingly it's a very popular app, leading the makers to launch a hetero version. So why haven't the makers rushed a lezzer version to the app store? It's ok readers, I've done the thinking for you.

Reason 1: There are hardly any lezzers

I know we want to believe that the supposed 10percent of gays in the UK are made up of at least 4percent lady but as I’ve suggested before, the figure is likely to be much lower than that. Whether it’s media, shops, bars or websites the lesbian market is severely underrepresented. Is it because no one likes us, or simply that there really aren’t half as many of us as we think.

Reason 2: Gay women don’t do casual sex as well

Generally gay men take to casual sex like a duck to water. Straights hold their own in the casual sex stakes but behind the scenes it’s very often men driving these encounters. When it’s left up to 2 women, things become far less feverish.

I’m obviously not suggesting that lesbians don’t have casual sex, but I do think we have a different kind. Even when arrangements are made online, we still need to see the person we’ll be sleeping with before we can make the decision to take them home.

Maybe it’s a safety thing, I might have had my fair share of fun but part of me stlll worried they’d nick the video on their way out.  Or maybe it’s just that old-fashioned idea that for a woman to get intimate there has to be some sort of attraction, whether emotional or physical.

So for all we say that we can do casual sex like the boys, the girls I’ve asked have all admitted they’d never use something like Grindr for anything other than some txt sex and we can do that without an app.
